Motor Cross
The Twickenham & District Motor Cycle Club was formed around 1947 by a group of enthusiasts in that area although nowadays the vast majority of its members reside in Surrey and Kent.
After many years of organising sporting motorcycle events on various properties many of which were owned by the Frost family, the Stammerham Farm venue in Capel Road at Rusper became Twickenham’s motocross home in 1987.
Three events are usually held at Stammerham in May, July and September which have entries from around 150 competitors both on solo and sidecar machines.
These meetings are normally run as regional events although there have been British Championships meetings quite a few times at this very well thought of circuit.
The Twickenham & DMCC is affiliated to the Auto Cycle Union (ACU) which is the governing body of motorcycle sport in the UK and as such all events are sanctioned, insured and run under the ACU rules and regulations.
Information on motorcycle sport in the UK can be found on the ACU website which is www.acu.org.uk and also on the South Eastern Moto Cross Combine website at www.mxsoutheast.co.uk
